NATIONAL MINE ACTION PLAN

During the November 2004 Ottawa Treaty Meeting of the States Parties in Kenya, Nairobi, the Government of Mozambique re-affirmed its commitment to clear all mines/UXOs from Mozambique by 2009. Currently the IND is drafting a new National Mine Action Plan to address all issues in compliance to its commitment to meet the 2009 deadline. In addition, work has also been carried out to “mainstream mine action” into the Government of Mozambique's poverty reduction plan (PARPA).
